architectural

I love the feeling of creating an image that does the architect, the building, and the surrounding environment, justice. Great architecture is a balance of both art and function. When an architect has created something that complements both, I feel an enriched sense of responsibility to create an image that captures this balance.

This is what I find fascinating about architectural photography. I try to put myself in the architects shoes. Why was the building designed in this way? Who is using it? What does it complement, symbolize, and what is it’s function? All the answers to these questions can be included in a image or series of images.

When I set out on a architectural project I take into account how the building is being used, the landscape, how and when the light hits the building throughout the day… I love to find a new angle, time of day, and composition, that brings out, what the architect wants us to see and feel.
