SXSW 2008 – Photographing Live Music

SXSW is the best live music festival in Austin, or anywhere else for that matter. I think it’s such a great festival because there is so much going on at once. You can’t plan too much. Sometimes, it’s just gotta happen, and it usually does. Every year I get involved in someway. For the past two years I have been very fortunate to be part of the festival and also able to take photos. This year I got to see My Morning Jacket (my all time favorite band), Van Morrison, Jim James (acoustic at St. Davids Episcopal Church), Elliott Brood, Luke Doucet, Black Mountain, North Mississippi All-Stars, Yo La Tango, Christian Scott, and many others.
