Last night (May, 16 2009) I went to the Blanton Museum to see a screening of Visual Acoustics, a film about the life of Julius Shulman. I am so thrilled about this film, I simply can’t stop talking about it. The film’s subject is the most influential architectural photographer of our time. This is certainly enough to keep me interested, but Mr. Shulman’s personality and life attitude we’re unanticipated. This man is a shining example of living in the present. His spirit, energy, and belief show through every element of this wonderful film and no doubt is reflected in his astounding body of work.

I was convinced that in order to actually want to make a film about an architectural photographer, you would have to be one. Eric Bricker surprised me on that, he found this man by accident and was so enamored by his charisma and authenticity, that he had the idea of creating a film of his life and career as an architectural photographer. Eric Bricker created a beautiful lasting tribute to the life and career of a inspiring man.
